Transportation Company of the Year

The UICR grants at the request of one of its member countries' transport enterprises. Honored with the award are innovative transportation companies which promote safety, preserve the environment and provide good working conditions.


2008: Sieber Gruppe, Berneck/Schweiz

Sieber group was granted by the UICR with the title "transportation company of the year 2008". The Sieber Group is a global logistics company which was founded 35 years ago and is still owned by the brothers Paul and Erich Sieber. The group includes companies such as Sieber Transport AG, Francey Transport SA and Haldemann & Co. AG. The group employs 340 people at 14 locations in Switzerland, Austria and the United States. Ludwig A. Buechel, president of the UICR, praised the Sieber group as exemplary company, in which the employees are at the center. An active information policy, clearly formulated personnel regulations, a family and personal style of leadership and the clear commitment to promote training of staff characterize the corporate culture of the family business.


 

2003: Autobusni Promet, Varazdin/Kroation

The award for the year 2003 goes to the bus company ‘autobusni promet d.d. in Varazdin, Croatia.  The company is 56 years old and mastered the entry into free enterprise as an employee owned company. Autobusni promet  employs 220 professional drivers. UICR President Ludwig Büchel gave the director of the company, Ivan Biskup, the award for the ‘Transport Company of the Year.' The company's leadership qualities, the social consciousness of the management, the constant improvements in the area of safety and ergonomics as well as sizeable investments in environmental regulations made them an automatic first choice.  Büchel made it clear in his speech that the name ‘autobusni promet d.d' is the guarantee for a modern company with a future-oriented variety of services, a vast assortment of products, consciousness of quality, high level of performance, responsibility awareness but also high expectations from it's employees. 

 

 


2000: Arthur Welter, Luxembourg

The member association of professional drivers of Letzeburg (BLL) has given the best references to the transport company Arthur Welter (Leudelange-Luxembourg) which won the ‘Transport Company of the Year' award for 2000.

 

 

 

 


 

1992: Setz AG, Dintikon/Schweiz

In 1992 this title was awarded to a Swiss company which is known well over the borders of Switzerland.  On Friday, October 8th, Hanspeter Setz accepted the award from the hands of the Secretary General, Alber Michel.  The company's leadership qualities, the social consciousness of the management, the constant improvements in the area of safety and ergonomics as well as sizeable investments in environmental regulations made them an automatic first choice.  In his oration Chairman Michel said, "The name Setz is the guarantee for a modern company with a future-oriented variety of services, a vast assortment of products, consciousness of quality, high level of performance, responsibility awareness but also high expectations from it's employees.
