When and where was the UICR founded?
The UICR was founded 1957 by Spanish, Algerian and French long distance drivers under the name Union Internationale des Chauffeurs Routiers (UICR). The main headquarters were in Paris / France from 07.04.1968 until 1984, when they were transferred to Munich / Germany and operated by KS Kraftfahrerschutz. Since 1999 the headquarters of operation has been in Switzerland and operated by Les Routiers Suisses.
Where is the main seat of the UICR?
The main seat of the UICR is in Liechtenstein. It is entered in the commercial register in FL-9490 Vaduz.
How is the UICR organized?
The highest executive body is the general meeting, in which each member organization has a vote. The board consists of five members which are assisted by the Secretary General.
How many members does the UICR have?
There are 1.4 million members at this time-mostly from Western and Eastern Europe but also from North America and Africa.
